ROMA GALLERY WEEKEND - CONTEMPORANEA
MAY 9–11, 2025
Federica Schiavo Gallery is pleased to participate in the third edition of Roma Gallery Weekend - Contemporanea.
Contemporanea is an initiative conceived and organized by contemporary art galleries active in the Roman territory, with the aim of documenting, mapping, and enhancing the city's artistic vitality. The project takes its name from the exhibition curated by Achille Bonito Oliva in 1973 in the underground parking lot of Villa Borghese. Fifty years later, Rome's galleries are picking up that narrative thread to reposition the city at the heart of the international cultural landscape.
The 2025 edition of Roma Gallery Weekend offers a wide-ranging and layered overview of different artistic languages and practices. From the Trieste neighborhood to Trastevere, from the historic city center to Testaccio, Ostiense, and San Lorenzo, the gallery weekend becomes a real map of contemporary art in Rome. Each area is brought to life by the participating galleries and artists, offering an itinerary that intertwines art with the urban fabric and invites audiences to experience Rome through the lens of contemporary art spaces.
Contemporanea is made possible thanks to the valuable collaboration with Accademia Tedesca Roma Villa Massimo, John Cabot University, and Soho House Roma, and takes place under the patronage of Roma Capitale – Department of Culture.
